Edward Cooke Family Law confirmed as principal sponsor of Festival of Chichester

25 February 2025

We are delighted to continue to support the Festival of Chichester as principal sponsor of the 2025 event.

Festival of Chichester 2025

The Festival of Chichester continues to go from strength to strength and boasts a packed programme for summer 2025, running from Saturday 14 June to Sunday 20 July.

Chichester’s celebration of the arts includes over 120 events across the city, from concerts, workshops and theatre productions, to talks, poetry and guided walks, featuring internationally renowned artists, performers and authors, as well as championing up and coming talent.

The 2025 programme will launch shortly on the Festival of Chichester website. Remarkably this month-long event is organised by a small, dedicated group of volunteer trustees, who do wonderful work in curating and managing the festival each year. Best-selling author Kate Mosse is the Festival President and actor Dame Patricia Routledge is Patron.

Edward is a long-standing supporter of the festival personally and has performed at a number of events at the festival in previous years. 2025 marks the fifth year of the firm’s sponsorship of the event.

Edward Cooke interview with founding Chairman, Phil Hewitt

Edward Cooke was recently interviewed by Phil Hewitt, founding Chairman of the Festival of Chichester. Edward commented on his long-standing connection with the festival and its importance to the city:

"This is our fifth year sponsoring the festival and it's wonderful to see how the festival goes from strength to strength. It's a phoenix from the ashes story (after the demise of the old Chichester Festivities), and it's so important that Chichester with its very rich cultural history can bring all these events together.

There are so many great institutions involved in the festival, including the cathedral, theatre groups, dance groups, Pallant House and lots of other organisations. The festival is so important in bringing all these organisations together and it is fantastic to have a festival that really embraces the whole community. It is so important to celebrate our cultural diversity in the city and in the area. The festival is a way of doing this and giving people civic pride and bringing enjoyment to people while recognising the talents of so many performers.

I can remember the old festival (the Chichester Festivities) as a child and going to see some fantastic events. Chichester has a fantastic cultural history. whether it's Bernstein's Chichester Psalms or the art of Pallant House or Laurence Olivier's connection with Chichester Festival Theatre. The city is a jewel of the arts.

The reason we wanted to become principal sponsor is because we passionately want to support the festival. We want to see it continue to go from strength to strength. As a local firm we are rooted in the community. We support lots of local organisations and we want to see the festival continue to flourish and continue to grow.”
