Edward Cooke Family Law marks its fifth anniversary

The team at Edward Cooke Family Law are delighted to mark our fifth anniversary this June.
The firm was launched back in June 2018 when, together with his assistant, Daisy, managing director, family lawyer and mediator Edward Cooke opened a specialist modern family law office in the heart of the South Downs, in Chilgrove, West Sussex.
While Edward and Daisy started out in a shared office, over the past five years this modern family law practice has gone from strength to strength. In addition to its thriving Chilgrove office, it now has a second office in Brighton & Hove, headed by director Lauren Guy. The firm has developed a reputation as a leading firm of specialist family law solicitors and mediators. providing divorce and family law advice and family mediation services to clients in Chichester, Brighton and across the South East, and with close links with leading family law professionals in London and across the country.
Today, seven highly experienced lawyers, one trainee and a five-strong administrative team support clients in matters ranging from financial issues arising upon divorce and separation to child arrangements, and from surrogacy and same-sex families to prenuptial agreements and living-together agreements. The firm also offers Consensus, a one-couple, one-lawyer approach for couples wishing to separate in the most amicable way possible, based on the ‘Resolution Together’ model.
Above all, Edward Cooke Family Law is committed to supporting its clients, wherever possible, in reaching child-focused solutions without needing to involve the court - through mediation, collaborative law, arbitration and other methods. The firm provides a full family law service, so that, when there is no alternative, it represents clients in all forms of family court proceedings.
One key to the firm’s impressive development is the range of accolades it has garnered from prestigious organisations such as The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, which rigorously assess law firms around the world. The firm has also been shortlisted for several respected industry awards over the years, against stiff competition from much larger national firms, and Edward has this month been shortlisted for Resolution's Children's Champion Award.
The firm is also passionately committed to supporting the local community, including organisations such as the Festival of Chichester, The Point and Children on the Edge.

Recognising the need to continue to take care of our team, we closed the office for a day and enjoyed some downtime together to try our hand at some bodyboarding, kayaking and paddle-boarding and enjoyed a fabulous meal together. A well-deserved treat for our wonderful, highly professional, caring and hard-working team.
