Michelle Lewis becomes accredited mediator

08 August 2024

Director and Family Lawyer Michelle Lewis is celebrating achieving fully-qualified accredited status as a Family Mediator, after successfully completing training and supervised practice through the Family Mediation Council.

Further strengthening her practice within Family Law, Michelle’s accreditation represents years of hard work and dedication to pursuing non-adversarial routes to resolving family matters wherever possible.

Michelle commented:

Mediation is central to my approach as a family lawyer, seeking solutions with separating partners to work out arrangements for children and finances in the most non-combative way possible. Since joining Edward Cooke Family Law I have been able to fully embrace my mediation practice, I really love the work that I do and the difference it makes to separated couples and their families.

Thanks to Edward Cooke and my co-workers for their support during my accreditation, as well as my supervisor, Claire Webb.”

The importance of family mediation

When a relationship breaks down, Family Mediation is an excellent way to resolve all the issues that arise in a safe and neutral environment - and in a much more cost-effective way than an adversarial court process. This is a robust and rigorous process, during which the mediator fosters open communications and guides parties towards mutually agreeable solutions.
