Melanie joined Edward Cooke Family Law as a Trainee Solicitor in April 2022. Melanie started her training with a regional commercial firm before moving to Edward Cooke Family Law to develop her career as a family law specialist.
Career History
Melanie completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Guildford, where she qualified with a distinction and was awarded the Surrey Resolution Award for her grade in family law and performance on the course overall.
Areas of Work
As part of her training, Melanie will offer administrative and technical support to all solicitors across all areas of casework in both the Chichester and Brighton offices.
Professional Background
Melanie completed her undergraduate Batchelor of Laws at Southampton University in 2004, and her Master of Laws in Human Rights at Birkbeck, University of London, in 2009.
Melanie joined Edward Cooke Family Law with a wealth of experience gained from practitioner and management positions within local authority youth and children services departments, as well as international work experience with rights-based non-profit organisations.
Outside of Work
Melanie enjoys spending her time outside of work with her young family, listening to live music and exploring the West Sussex countryside.
